Crash Alert: 24-year-old man killed in 18-wheeler collision

AUSTIN, TX – A 24-year-old man died in a accident involving a car and an 18-wheeler tractor trailer on Monday morning in Taylor. According to the Austin-American Statesman, Dillon Patrick Coy was driving his 2001 Honda westbound on Carlos Parker Boulevard when he veered off of the roadway, struck a pole, and then veered into the left lane. His vehicle then crossed the center divide and crashed into the oncoming 18-wheeler.

The truck driver, a 56-year-old man from Austin, sustained minor injuries in the crash. Medics transported him to a nearby hospital for treatment. Emergency responders declared Coy dead at the scene of the accident. Police are currently investigating the deadly crash.
