Crash Alert: Downtown crash causes delays near City Hall

AUSTIN, TX – Austin police have responded to a crash just off of the First Street Bridge at City Hall Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred just after 9 a.m. within the 100 block of Lavaca Street, between the intersections of West Cesar Chavez and Second Streets, according to the Austin-Travis County traffic report page.

Information regarding how many vehicles were involved in the crash has not yet been released by police. However, motorists are advised to avoid the area as traffic is still limited as of 10:00 a.m. Tuesday. We will provide any further developments as they are made available.
