Crash Alert: Driver hospitalized in critical condition following crash on Mopac

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in North Austin rushed one person to the hospital following an afternoon collision on Mopac Boulevard Thursday.

According to the Austin American Statesman, the incident was reported at about 2:37 p.m. between the 8500 and 9100 blocks of Mopac Blvd.

Initial reports were of a driver experiencing cardiac arrest after striking a fixed object along the freeway. Paramedics were able to extricate the unidentified victim from their vehicle and transport them to Dell Seton Medical Center.

Information on what may have caused the driver to strike the object or if the cardiac arrest occurred prior to the crash is likely still under investigation.

No other injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
