Crash Alert: One dead after North Austin pedestrian accident

AUSTIN, TX – A pedestrian died after being hit by a car on Interstate-35 north of downtown Austin Friday morning.

According to the Austin American Statesman, emergency services in North Austin responded to a reported person struck by a vehicle along North I-35 near Breaker Lane at about 4:30 a.m.

Paramedics attempted CPR on the victim when they arrived on the scene. Unfortunately, they were unsuccessful and the pedestrian was pronounced dead.

No word on the identity of the victim or how the incident transpired has been released as of yet. However, the accident is still under investigation. We will continue to monitor the story and provide those details as they are made available.
