Crash Alert: Police searching for female involved in fatal Austin hit-and-run collision

AUSTIN, TX – Police in North Austin are seeking the public’s help in identifying a woman who left the scene of a fatal collision early Wednesday morning.

According to KXAN, the multi-vehicle crash occurred at about 7:00 a.m. within the 7600 block of FM 620 near Vandegrift High School.

One driver was fatally struck while attempting to turn out of an apartment complex. The driver was ejected and then struck by multiple vehicles. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

One other driver involved was transported to the hospital. Other motorists remained at the scene to render assistance while a female driver immediately drove away.

Witnesses say the fleeing driver was a blonde woman in a light-colored SUV. No further information on her identity has been released as of Wednesday evening.
