Crash alert: Police trying to track down driver involved in Austin hit-and-run

AUSTIN, TX – Police released additional details regarding a deadly hit-and-run incident in Austin Thursday night.

This is an update to a previous story.

Austin police said the car involved was a white 2015 Ford Fiesta. The vehicle was located following the crash but the driver is still being sought.

The driver struck and killed a woman in the 7200 block of Cameron Road in northeast Austin at about 9:41 p.m. The name of the victim, who died at the scene, has not yet been released.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact detectives at the Austin Police Department’s vehicular homicide unit or call the Crime Stoppers Tip Line.

Police said this was Austin’s 20th fatal traffic crash of 2021, resulting in 22 fatalities for the year.
