Crash alert: Round Rock police searching for van that struck, killed pedestrian on I-35

ROUND ROCK, TX – The Round Rock Police Department tweeted that they are searching for a vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian on March 14th.

Police say the victim, identified as Angel Contreras, was hit by a van at about 1 a.m. while he was walking on Interstate 35 near Sam Bass Road. The vehicle then exited I-35 at RM 620/Round Rock Avenue.

Police released a photo of a van they said was similar to the one that struck Contreras. It was described as a 1996 to 2002 white Chevy Express van.  The van being sought is believed to have headlight and molding damage on the right front, as well as damage to the passenger’s side mirror. It was loaded down with boxes and luggage on top of it.

Anyone with information about the crash was asked to contact the Round Rock Police Department.
