Crash Alert: Rush-hour crash closes lanes on SH-71

AUSTIN, TX – Officials in South Austin were forced to shut down at least one lane along the SH-71 frontage road near Interstate 35 Thursday evening.

According to the Austin – Travis County traffic report page, the crash occurred within the 900 block of East Ben White Boulevard at about 6:11 p.m.

No injuries resulting from the collision have been reported. However, traffic built up quickly along this portion of E. Ben White Boulevard and SH-71 throughout Thursday evening’s rush-hour. Officials have advised motorists to find an alternate route while the crash is investigated and cleared.
