Crash alert: Travis County accident leaves 1 dead, 1 critically injured

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – A car crash in Travis County over the weekend left one person dead and another critically injured, according to KXAN.

Two vehicles were involved in the wreck near the intersection of FM 812 and US 183, just south of Austin.  Emergency crews responding to the area at about 2:30 a.m. found that two people were trapped inside their vehicles. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other victim was extricated from the vehicle and transported to St. David’s South Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Drivers were advised to expect road closures in the area while authorities were investigating the accident and clearing the wreckage.

There was no immediate information on what may have caused the incident.
