Crash Alert: UPDATE Victim identified in fatal I-35 pedestrian crash

AUSTIN, TX – Authorities in North Austin have identified the victim in a fatal pedestrain crash on Interstate 34 in the early morning hours of Friday, July 10th.

Roberto Luna Pantoja, 23, was struck by a car while attempting to cross the 11800 block I-35 near Breaker Lane shortly after 4:30 a.m., according to the Austin American Statesman. 

Officials attempted life-saving measures upon their arrival at the scene but were unsuccessful. Pantoja was pronounced dead at 4:53 a.m.

Charges are not expected to be filed against the driver involved in the incident.
