AUSTIN, TX – A driver killed in a car accident in central Austin last month has been identified by authorities, according to a report by KXAN.
Austin Police said the victim of the Feb. 7 crash was 34-year-old Felipe Chavez-Salinas. Investigators determined that Chavez-Salinas was driving a Corvette at a high rate of speed on San Gabriel Street that morning when he sideswiped a Ford Explorer being used as a rideshare car.
Chavez-Salina’s vehicle then struck two telephone poles and a parked car that was unoccupied. He was pronounced dead at an area hospital. No one else was injured in the accident.
