Crash alert: Victim of Travis County crash identified as Westlake football alumni

TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – The person killed in a crash in west Travis County Wednesday morning has been identified, according to the Austin American-Statesman.

This is an update to a previous story.

Westlake High School football coach Todd Dodge told the newspaper that the victim was Jackson Coker, a 2020 graduate of Westlake High School who played on the school’s 2019 championship football team.

Austin-Travis County EMS responded to the single-vehicle rollover crash that happened at FM 2244 and River Hills Road at about 6:12 a.m. The victim was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Coker was playing football for Columbia University but had been home because of the pandemic.
