Crash Alert: Man severely injured after being hit by an EMS truck

AUSTIN, TX – A man sustained life-threatening injuries after he was struck by an Austin-Travis County EMS vehicle on Tuesday night. KXAN reports that the EMS vehicle was responding to a call when the vehicle collided into a pedestrian at 1500 East Cesar Chavez Street near Navasota and Comal Streets. The incident happened around 11 p.m.

Officers from the Austin Police Department were at the scene for about three hours for investigation. Medics transported the injured man to a nearby hospital for treatment. No further details have been released at this time.
