TRAVIS COUNTY, TX – Travis County EMS responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a car along Texas Route 71 on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred at about 6:10 a.m. on June 10 along the 23000 block of Route 71 near Pedernales Trail, according to the Austin American Statesman. Police and EMS pronounced the victim deceased upon their arrival at the crash site.
The identity of the driver has not yet been released by Travis County authorities, nor has the cause of the wreck, as it is still under investigation. The incident shut down a portion of 71 for most of Wednesday morning causing congestion during morning rush hour.
