Three people killed in Highway 71 head-on collision

AUSTIN, TX – Three people were killed in a head-on collision on Highway 71 on Sunday night. According to KXAN, the two-vehicle accident occurred at around 11:40 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 71 in Bastrop County. A 2001 Honda Accord was driving west in the eastbound lanes when it crashed head-on with a 2010 Toyota Corolla.

Two people in the Toyota Corolla and one person in the Honda Accord were declared dead at the scene of the accident. Another two passengers in the Accord were transported by air to a nearby medical facility for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
