The extrication accident occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. on North FM 973 Road near Pickle Parkway, or TX-130. This is east of Lake Walter E. Long and west of East Metropolitan Park.
Police haven’t disclosed the cause of the crash, which they say involved two vehicles. One person became entrapped in their vehicle.
After working to free the trapped victim, medics transported both patients to Dell Seton Medical Center as trauma alerts. One of the patients required transport by air ambulance.
Motorists likely encountered lengthy delays along FM 973 in the area of the wreck while crews worked at the scene.
