AUSTIN, TX – A two-vehicle collision along the freeway in central Austin left a motorcyclist seriously injured Tuesday night, reports KVUE.
The accident occurred around 11:30 p.m. along the northbound side of Mopac Expressway between Westover Road and 35th Street, which is just north of Tarrytown.
Police haven’t shared many details regarding the circumstances of the crash, which involved a sedan and a motorcycle. The driver of the car did not stop to render aid but instead chose to leave the scene of the crash.
Medics transported the motorcyclist to an area hospital in critical condition.
Officials closed the northbound side of Mopac in the area of the accident while crews gathered evidence and worked to clear the scene. All lanes re-opened by 5 a.m. Wednesday.
