AUSTIN, TX – A two-vehicle collision along a major roadway in southeast Austin killed one person and injured another on Saturday, reports KXAN.

The fatal accident occurred around 3:30 p.m. on East Riverside Drive between Burton Drive and Willow Creek Drive. This is east of I-35 and south of Town Lake.

Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the accident, nor have they specified the manner in which the two cars collided.

Officials say the passenger in a silver car, identified as Juanita Cortinas, died at the scene.

The driver of the silver car went to the hospital with non-critical injuries, and the other driver did not require hospitalization.

Authorities have not referenced any charges at this time.
