TEMPLE, TX – A 33-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday in a two-vehicle collision on the northwest side of Temple, reports the Killeen Daily Herald.
The fatal crash happened shortly before 2 a.m. on TX-36, or Airport Road, between TX-317 and Moffat Road.
Police say that a westbound motorcyclist was likely speeding when he rear-ended a car on the highway.
The motorcycle operator, identified as Steven Sheldon of Killeen, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
It’s unclear if anyone in the vehicle sustained injuries.
Officials closed TX-36 in the area of the crash while emergency teams worked at the scene.
A full investigation is underway.
