AUSTIN, TX – Austin police reported critical injuries last week in connection to a single-vehicle crash on the southeast side of the city.
According to KVUE, the collision occurred shortly before 1 a.m. Friday near the intersection of East Riverside Drive and Vargas Road in the Montopolis area.
Authorities haven’t yet commented on the cause of the accident. They say that for unknown reasons, a man lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway, and hit a pole.
Medics transported the victim to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officials closed East Riverside Drive while APD gathered evidence and medics attended to the victim.
