AUSTIN, TX – One person sustained injuries Thursday afternoon in a major collision along the interstate in north Austin, reports KVUE.

APD responded to the accident shortly after 4 p.m. on the northbound side of I-35 between Park 35 Circle and Tech Ridge Boulevard. This is just north of Walnut Creek.

So far, authorities haven’t specified the cause of the crash, the number of vehicles involved, or the manner in which the vehicles impacted. One person became pinned in their vehicle during the accident.

Medics transported one person to an area hospital with serious injuries. The victim is expected to survive.

Officials closed the northbound side of I-35 for almost two hours while crews worked at the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
