AUSTIN, TX – One person died, and two people were hurt earlier this month in an auto-pedestrian collision in downtown Austin, reports KVUE.
The incident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on Sunday, May 11th, along East 7th Street near Sabine Street. This is just west of I-35 in the Red River Music District.
Police say that an unidentified vehicle struck three pedestrians on 7th Street. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.
One of the pedestrians, identified as 20-year-old Erica Garza, succumbed to her injuries this past Friday at the hospital.
The other two pedestrians, both men, went to an area hospital with minor injuries. They’ve likely been released since that time.
Authorities are still looking for the driver involved in the crash.
