AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police are investigating a fatal collision that happened in east-central Austin on Saturday morning, reports KXAN.

The two-vehicle accident happened just after 9 a.m. along FM 969, or Martin Luther King Boulevard East, between Johnny Morris Road and Decker Lane. This is east of the 183 Toll Road and near the Walnut Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Police haven’t commented on the cause of the accident, but they have said that two vehicles collided head-on.

Medics performed life-saving measures at the scene of the crash, but one person died from their injuries. Authorities have not yet released that person’s identity to the public.

Medics transported three people on trauma alerts to area hospitals.

A full investigation is underway.
