LEANDER, TX – More than a dozen children sustained injuries Wednesday in a school bus accident in northeast Travis County, reports KVUE.
The crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Nameless Road, or FM 2243, near Round Mountain Estates. This is on the far-west side of Leander.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a southbound Leander ISD school bus transporting 42 children from Bagdad Elementary School left the roadway and overturned.
A total of 16 children along with the bus driver required hospitalization. Two of the victims sustained serious injuries.
There’s no word yet regarding the cause of the accident.
