AUSTIN, TX – Medics were unsuccessful in resuscitating a child following a two-vehicle car accident in southeast Austin on Friday.
According to KVUE, the collision occurred around 1:30 p.m. just west of the intersection of Dee Gabriel Collins Road and US-183 near Pilot Knob. This is west of the 812 Outdoor Market.
An investigation into the cause of the accident is inconclusive at this time. Austin Police say that the crash caused one vehicle to flip over, injuring three adults and one child.
EMS transported the three adults as trauma alerts to an area hospital; they are expected to survive.
The child involved in the collision died at the scene.
Officials urged motorists to avoid this stretch of Dee Gabriel Collins Road on Friday afternoon while emergency teams worked at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
