ROUND ROCK, TX – Round Rock Police are investigating a triple-fatality collision that happened along the interstate Sunday.
According to KVUE, to accident occurred around 2 a.m. on the northbound side of I-35 between US-79, or East Palm Valley Road, and West Bowman Road.
Police haven’t yet specified the number of vehicles involved, nor have they described the manner in which the cars impacted. They say a drunk driver ultimately caused the crash and that three people died.
One driver was arrested on DWI charges
Authorities have not released the names of the victims.
Photos taken at the scene depict an overturned silver vehicle and a blue car or SUV.
Officials closed both sides of the interstate for over five hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
