SAN MARCOS, TX – A man was arrested Thursday for hitting six pedestrians while driving under the influence in downtown San Marcos.
According to KVUE, the crash occurred around 1 a.m. just northeast of The Square at the intersection of East Hopkins Street and LBJ Drive.
The preliminary investigation indicates that 24-year-old Enrique Gutierrez-Field was intoxicated when he hit multiple pedestrians in the crosswalk with his truck.
Medics transported at least five of the victims to an area hospital for unspecified injuries. They are all expected to survive.
San Marcos Police arrested Gutierrez-Field on multiple charges at the scene of the collision.
