AUSTIN, TX – An elderly woman died last week when a vehicle hit her along a major roadway in north-central Austin, reports Fox 7 Austin.
Shortly before 8 a.m. last Friday, emergency teams responded to reports of an auto-pedestrian accident on Hancock Drive between North Fresco Drive and Bull Creek Road in the Allandale neighborhood.
It’s unclear if the victim was attempting to cross Hancock Drive when the crash happened, nor do we know if she was using a designated crosswalk.
The pedestrian, identified as 72-year-old Claudia Gale Porter, died from her injuries after transport to a local hospital.
The unidentified driver did not exhibit signs of intoxication and did stop to render aid and answer questions.
Austin Police will continue the investigation, and our team of news writers will post updates to the blog if we learn more about what happened.
