AUSTIN, TX – At least one person died Tuesday night in a major collision on the south side of Austin, reports KXAN.
The accident occurred sometime before 9:45 p.m. on the southbound frontage road of I-35 between Taft Lane and Old San Antonio Road in the Southpark Meadows area.
Police haven’t yet disclosed the cause of the crash, the number of cars involved, or the manner in which the vehicles impacted with each other.
Officials have referenced a fatality, but they’ve not shared the name of the victim, and it’s unclear if there were additional injuries.
The southbound frontage road was closed at East Slaughter Lane while emergency crews responded to the scene.
