DEL VALLE, TX – An elderly woman died over the weekend from injuries sustained in a collision that happened earlier this month in Del Valle.

According to KXAN, the accident occurred shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, on the westbound service road of TX-71 at FM 973, which is just east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.

Police haven’t shared any details about the circumstances of the crash except to say that it involved two vehicles.

Medics transported one of the drivers, identified as 75-year-old Lynda R. Pierson, to an area hospital. Pierson succumbed to her injuries four days later.

It’s unclear if the other driver involved in the collision sustained injuries.
