AUSTIN, TX – Austin Police have confirmed a fatality in connection to a two-vehicle collision that happened over the Labor Day weekend.
Shortly before 1 a.m. Sunday, CBS Austin reports, emergency crews responded to the southbound service road of US-183 and McNeil Road on the northwest side of the city. This is just north of Barrington Park.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause and circumstances of the crash. Thus far, officials have only indicated that the a motorcycle and a car were involved.
Medics transported the driver of the passenger vehicle to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries. Authorities identified the victim as 22-year-old Erik Tobias Billingsley.
The motorcyclist stopped to render aid and to speak with police.
Neither driver appeared to be impaired at the time of the collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
