AUSTIN, TX – A 50-year-old man died a few days after an auto-pedestrian accident earlier this month along the interstate in north Austin.
According to KXAN Austin, a car struck a pedestrian around 3 a.m. on Friday, July 18th, along the northbound service road for I-35 between US-183 and Rutherford Lane. This is in the Heritage Hills area.
Police haven’t yet disclosed the details for the accident, so it’s unclear if the victim was walking on the shoulder or in a lane of travel.
The pedestrian, identified as Nakia L. Dawson, succumbed to his injuries in the hospital on Tuesday, July 22nd.
The driver involved in the crash stopped to render aid and to speak with police.
The investigation is ongoing.
