AUSTIN, TX – A man died over the Fourth of July weekend when his vehicle crashed along a major roadway is southeast Austin.

As reported by CBS Austin, the single-vehicle accident happened just after 9:30 p.m. Saturday at FM 973 and Spirit Drive, east of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in the suburb of Del Valle.

Authorities declared an unidentified male victim deceased at the scene of the collision. They’ve not yet commented on the cause of the crash or the total number of people in the vehicle when the accident occurred.

Motorists likely experienced delays when travelling along FM 973 near the airport Saturday night while emergency crews responded to the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
