ROUND ROCK, TX – A fatality has been reported in connection to a crash involving an Amtrak train that happened last week in Williamson County.
According to KXAN, the incident occurred just before 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 3, at the railroad crossing just south of US-79 and FM 110. This is at the edge of Round Rock and Hutto.
The investigation indicates that the train was carrying more than 70 people when it collided with a passenger vehicle on the tracks.
One person sustained fatal injuries. Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased victim.
It’s unclear if anyone else was hurt in the accident.
