AUSTIN, TX – A 63-year-old man sustained fatal injuries early Saturday when a vehicle struck him along the interstate in North Austin, reports Austin American-Statesman.
The accident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on the northbound frontage road to I-35 near West Parmer Lane in the Tech Ridge area. This is just northeast of Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park.
Police have not yet disclosed any details regarding the circumstances of the crash. They say the pickup truck also struck a car after hitting the pedestrian.
Authorities declared the pedestrian deceased at the scene, identifying him as Edward Walker.
It’s unclear if anyone else involved in the accident sustained injuries.
The driver of the pickup truck did not exhibit signs of impairment and did stop to render aid and to speak with police.
No charges have been announced thus far.
The investigation is ongoing.
