AUSTIN, TX – A man died last Monday from injuries sustained almost three weeks prior in a bicycle hit-and-run in South Austin.
According to KXAN, the cycling accident happened on Tuesday, May 20th, just south of Ben White on South Congress Avenue.
Police say that Bobby Wayne Carr was riding his bike along South Congress when he collided with an unidentified passenger vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid or to speak with authorities.
Carr died at the hospital on June 9th from injuries sustained in the collision.
At this time, Austin Police have not released any further details regarding the driver or vehicle involved in the fatal crash. Additionally, it’s unclear if Carr was riding in a designated bike lane or crosswalk when the accident happened.
A full investigation is underway.
