Crash Alert: Driver killed in single-car crash on Mopac Expy in north Austin

AUSTIN, TX — One person was killed early Sunday morning after a single-vehicle collision on North Mopac Service Road in north Austin, reports KXAN.

The accident happened on the 8800 block of the service road, near Steck Avenue at approximately 2:54 a.m.

Authorities say a white BMW was going south on the road when it slammed into a curb and caught fire.

The driver died from their injuries at the scene, confirmed Austin Police Department.

No further information has been released on the circumstances surrounding.
