Crash alert: Head-on crash between pickups in Manor sends 2 students to hospital

MANOR, TX – A head-on collision in Manor early Tuesday morning sent two students to the hospital, according to KXAN.

The accident involving two pickup trucks took place on FM 973 near the intersection with U.S. Highway 290 at about 2 a.m.  Seven students from the Manor Independent School District were in the pickup that was struck by the other vehicle.  Two of them were transported to a local hospital with what were described as significant injuries.  The driver of the other truck was also seriously injured and hospitalized.

The five other students involved refused treatment, officials said.

Alcohol was being looked at as a possible contributing factor in the collision, and both drivers were undergoing tests to determine whether they had been drinking.

Manor school officials said a trauma crisis team was being dispatched to Manor Senior High School to support scholars and staff after the crash.
