AUSTIN, TX – The southbound lanes of MoPac Expressway have been reopened following an overnight accident that involved two vehicles and at least four people.

According to KXAN, the crash occurred at around 2:30 a.m. between US 290 and William Cannon Drive.

Austin Police reported that four people were traveling in one of the vehicles, with two of them currently in critical condition. At least one person in the second vehicle was also hospitalized with unspecified injuries. Although authorities say children were involved in the accident, the number of children was not disclosed.
