COLLEGE STATION, TX – Emergency teams responded to a fatal pedestrian accident Wednesday night in College Station, reports KCEN 6 News.

The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m., just south of campus, at Wellborn Road and Fidelity Street. This is east of the Penberthy Rec Sports Complex.

The preliminary investigation suggests that a pedestrian ran in front of a car on Wellborn Road. The vehicle was unable to avoid hitting the man.

Medics transported the victim, since identified as 19-year-old Nikman Sarraf of Austin, to a local hospital. Sarraf died from his injuries not long after transport.

The driver is cooperating with authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
